Conveniently located between the town centre and the airport, Ocean Village is one of Gibraltar’s main waterfront destinations, with views across the Bay of Gibraltar.
Residents and visitors are drawn to its lively atmosphere and mix of marina, business, residential and leisure facilities.
So let’s find out what it has to offer!

Marina
The marina is at the heart of Ocean Village, where yachts and smaller boats are moored close to restaurants, apartments and leisure facilities.
Whether you’re arriving in Gibraltar by sea or looking for a longer-term berth, Ocean Village Marina and neighbouring Marina Bay provide a sheltered and well-equipped base.
Together they offer 250+ berths. Gibraltar Port Authority currently lists a maximum depth of approximately 4.5 metres for both Ocean Village and Marina Bay, with berths available for vessels up to around 90 metres depending on availability.
Current facilities include 24-hour security, Wi-Fi, fresh water and shore power, washrooms, an on-site launderette and concierge services.
Recent marina improvements have also increased capacity for larger yachts and superyachts.
The marina reception provides practical assistance for visiting and resident vessels, while additional marine services and chandlery support are available nearby.
Gibraltar remains outside the VAT system, which can be relevant to marine and retail activity. However, since July 2026, goods placed on the Gibraltar market are subject to the new Transaction Tax, while separate customs and excise rules can apply to products such as fuel, alcohol and tobacco.
Visitors taking purchases out of Gibraltar should also be aware of the current traveller allowance and customs rules applicable to their destination.

Fine Dining and Entertainment
Ocean Village is home to more than 20 waterfront restaurants and bars, ranging from international chains to independent local venues.
Current businesses include familiar names such as Wagamama, Las Iguanas and PizzaExpress, alongside local restaurants such as Little Bay.

Ocean Village is also Gibraltar’s main land-based casino area, hosting the territory’s two principal casino venues:
- Casino Admiral Gibraltar – Located within Ocean Village Marina, offering bingo, slot machines and live casino games.
- Casino Sunborn – Located aboard the Sunborn Gibraltar yacht hotel, offering a smaller casino environment with gaming machines and other casino facilities.
Opening hours and individual games can change, so check directly with each casino before visiting.
The marina is also a convenient starting point for water-based activities, boat trips and yacht charters.
EBike-Gibraltar, based at Imperial Ocean Plaza, offers e-bike rentals and guided tours for exploring Gibraltar.
Sunborn Gibraltar
One of Ocean Village’s most recognisable landmarks is Sunborn Gibraltar, a permanently moored five-star yacht hotel.
The hotel offers accommodation, restaurants and bars, a spa, gym, pool and casino within the Ocean Village marina environment.
Its upper decks also provide extensive views across the marina and surrounding parts of Gibraltar.
Luxury Living
Ocean Village is also one of Gibraltar’s major modern residential areas.
Its apartment developments offer a central waterfront location close to the airport, town centre, marina and business district.
Residential facilities vary between buildings but can include underground parking, swimming pools, landscaped communal areas and concierge services.
The area is also particularly convenient for professionals working at the nearby World Trade Center Gibraltar and other offices around Bayside Road.
According to Ocean Village, the wider development currently includes five residential towers with more than 600 apartments and approximately 29,000 square metres of office space.
Final Thoughts
Ocean Village combines marina facilities, waterfront restaurants, casinos, residential developments, offices and the Sunborn yacht hotel within a compact area close to Gibraltar’s airport and town centre.
It is equally suitable for a waterfront meal, an evening out, a marina stopover or simply a walk around one of Gibraltar’s most modern neighbourhoods.
Because individual businesses, marina tariffs and commercial services can change, check current information directly with the relevant operator when planning a specific activity or visit.
